Vitalicious - Review

I have recently had the pleasure to review some vitalicious products.
The Facts:
Vitalicious fortifies its products with nutraceuticals, vitamins and nutrients your body needs
to stay healthy and energetic. Vitalicious also takes pride in producing only all-natural
products, without any artificial additives or preservatives of any kind.

My thoughts:
I was able to review the SuperSampler Pack
This pack was a large box full of yummys!!
Here is what the box included:
4 Deep & Velvety VitaBrownies
2 Chocolate Mint VitaTops
2 Banana Nut VitaTops
2 Triple Chocolate Chunk VitaTops
2 Deep Chocolate VitaTops
2 Fudgy Peanut Butter Chip VitaTops
2 Golden Corn VitaTops
2 CranBran VitaTops
2 Apple Crumb VitaTops
2 RaisinBran VitaTops
2 Pumpkin Spice New!

My favorite vita top turned out to be the Golder Corn, I love the sweetness of this little cornbread treat.  I ate mine all by it's self gut this would have been great with a bowl of soup or chilli.
When I first opened the box I was super excited about all the yummy chocolateness!!  It turns out I enjoyed the other varieties more.  I liked the chocolate but they were a little bland for being chocolate.  From a dieting perspective they make a great little sugar boost!!
I have also been sending these in Baby bug's lunch a bit.  I like the fact I can send something that is low calorie but not unhealthy.  I love that she is getting variety and nutrients.  She has not turned down any flavors I have sent so far.

I do think overall these make a good healthy snack!!!  Next time you are at the grocery store take a peek in the freezer section and see if they have and of these vitalicious treat available or order straight from the website!!

Book Review- Family Life Marriage Bible

 Bible Review:
Family Life Marriage Bible
Devotions from: Dennis and Barbara Rainey

Overview:
The FamilyLife Marriage Bible features:
52 devotions for couples
Over 250 Bibical insights articles
80 Parenting questions answered
Hundreds of romantic tips, quotes,  and notes
66 bible book introductions
FamilyLife Family Manifesto
Topical index to features
8-page family tree section
30 days with Jesus Bible reading plan

My opinion:
I love this Bible.  The devotions, and side notes are such a nice addition.  The Bible arrived in a hardcover format.  It is white with some golden designs and two marriage rings on the cover.  The scriptures are black and the devotions and extras are written in green so it is easy to tell the difference.  The Index to the different devotions and notes is very nice it allows the reader to quickly find pieces to go with a topic they are interested in.  Their are blank lined pages in the back for notes, and spaces for family tree, marriages, births etc in the front.
I give this Bible a 5 out 5 stars a very good addition to any couples bible reading time.  This would make a wonderful wedding present!

Book Review- DG The Dopple Ganger Chronicles

Book Reveiw:
The Dopple Ganger Chronicles - The First Escape
By: G. P. Taylor
An Overview:
From the best-selling author of Shadowmancer comes an enthralling new series of illustra-novellas. The First Escape is the first book in the Dopple Ganger Chronicles, a six-book series following three children—Sadie and Saskia Dopple and Erik Morrissey Ganger. Sadie and Saskia are mischievous identical twins living at an orphanage, where Erik is their only friend. They are separated when Saskia is adopted by Muzz Elliott, a wealthy woman searching for her long-lost family treasure. While Saskia stumbles into the center of a crime only she can stop, Sadie and Erik embark on a quest to find her. This book is in an exciting new format called an “illustra-novella,” in which the story is told alternately in graphic novel format and plain text with occasional illustrations.
My opinions:
This book is written in a novel/comic format, this made it a quick read.  I was not extremely fond of this writing style.  I struggled to understand the details of what was happening.  I believe that things were intentional left mysterious to leave room for interpretation.  I did not want to interpret, I wanted it told directly. The drawings have avery unique almost dark side to them, I can not sure how to explain them.

There were some great parrels from this story and I think that it could lead to some good conversations with young teens and parents.  My sister also reviewed this blog and she and my niece read it and discussed the many aspects of it you can see that review here.
Over all this was not my favorite book but I realize that part of my dislike is in my own personal writing style preferences.  Through the whole book I was just so so I could take it or leave it, but some how at the end I realized that the last little adventure actually held my attention and I wanted all the sudden to see the sisters safe and happy!
 Bottom Line:
I would give this book 3 out of 5 stars.  I could see it being a real crowd pleaser with the younger generation, but it still is not my cup of tea.

Bath Luve - Review and Giveaway

I was recently given an opportunity to review the duck from Bath Luve

Baby bug is older now and we did not use the bath luve in the traditional cover the tiny baby up during bath time way.  She enjoyed playing with it in the tub and wore it around as a cape, the little feet are perfect for cape wearing.  (I had a cute picture of Baby bug wearing it as a cape but I have somehow lost my camera cord!  I will add the pictures if I find the cord!)  I love the size of the bath luve.  It was perfect for baby bug to play with and covered all of her back up.  I can see how it would be a great cover up to keep a young baby comfortable during bath time.  Those sweet little ones can get cold so fast this is an easy solution!  When baby number two comes around this will be a must have during those first bath times.  It is also a great size to hang up on a towel rack between baths to air dry.

One other off the wall use I found for this cute little duck is as a bib!! Pin those feet and create a bib that is perfect for a messy toddler during meal time.
Bath Luve has three sweet little animals to choose from- the fish, the duck, and the frog.  At $6.99 these are a great bargain.  I think they would make a super cute baby shower gift.
Bath Luve also carries a line of small  bath luve buddies small little matching sponge wash clothes the perfect little friend to the bath luve.

You can keep up with all that is happening with Bath luve by visiting their blog.

I have good news!! Amy from Bath Luve is offering  one Learning to be Thrifty reader a bath luve of their very own.

An Educational Easter

I love using Eggs in my classroom.  We always hunts Easter Eggs that I have set up with something Educational.  In the past I have had children hunt eggs with coins to practice counting, rhyming words to match, and even numbered the eggs and have the students put them in order.  You can check out an article I wrote, for other ideas on making Easter Educational if you need some other ideas.
Also as you make little Easter crafts make sure to use the craft for educational purpose crafts are a great time to work on fine motor skills, following directions, and positional words.  My favorite site for crafts is DLTK's Site they have so many great ideas for a wide variety of subjects.

Do you do anything to use the holidays to make learning more engaging for your children?

Spring Has arrived to Pier One

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Pier 1 for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Spring has arrived to Pier 1.  They have a large selection of stylish outdoor furniture to choose from.  You can see all they have to offer in their outdoor furniture section.  There are choices for every style.  I really like this coco cove outdoor wicker rocker,  doesn't this remind you of something you would find on the back porch of a  beach house overlooking the ocean.  We have a nice big deck behind our house that is very poorly furnished.   I would love to give it a makeover!  Pier 1 has all the great furnishings to give any back porch or deck a makeover.  For our deck I would love to have the rocker I mentioned before as well as the matching end table.  I think these two pieces would give the deck a very peaceful feel, it would be the perfect set up to curl up with a good book.   I think it is great that so many of pier 1's outdoor furniture can be used indoors this really adds to the versatilely  I can easily see that same rocker and end table in a little corner of the living room.

Pier 1 has some great Papasan chairs as well.  These are another great example of indoor outdoor furniture.  I think these would be a great addition to the patio or family room.  Pier 1 not only has the regular papasan chairs but also rockers, double papasans and even a swingasan chair.  The swingasan chair is adorable I  am sure it would be the highlight at any family or friend get together.

For those on a budget one easy way to update your patio is with cushions.  Adding new cushions to your current furniture is a simple cheaper way t spruce up the outdoor furniture.  Pier 1 has a great selection of colorful cushions to choose from.

Pier 1 is hosting two Pier 1 Tweetups  in the month of April.  What a great event for bloggers and tweeters in the local area to meet up.   The Pier 1 tweetups will be April 5th in Atlanta and April 20th in NYC if you are in those areas you should think about attending to meet some great who tweet and blog just like you.

So Spring officially began March 20th, What are some of your spring favorites from Pier 1?
