A while back I shared my new homemade miracle bathtub cleaner that I found on pinterest. Here is the original link. Well now I want to share my newest find. Homemade Laundry Soap. This recipe calls for no cooking so I thought it was a good one for me to try out first.
It only has three ingredients. Washing Soda, Borax, and soap. I chose to use Ivory Soap. I found a blog post on how to make washing soda out of baking soda, by cooking it. So that is where I started.
So this is a very easy recipe. A cup of borax, a cup of washing soda and a bar of grated ivory soap. You want to use the smallest side of your grater to get that very fine shaving of soap. Then just mix the three ingredients up and you are ready. I use one tablespoon for a normal size load. I use a bit more for my difficult loads. This is a very simple money saver!! So much cheaper then store bought laundry Soaps. I really like that this recipe did not call for any cooking or melting it seemed less intimidating to me. Maybe next time I will get brave enough to try some of the other recipes.
Check out the Linkys I participate in.
