Planting the mail box

Yesterday my husband and I redid our mailbox.  It has been in poor shape ever since we moved into this house.  I hate to admit we left it in such bad shape for so long.
Before

This is the before.  Our poor mailbox sitting in a broken ugly flower planter.  We knew we had a few choices here.  We could concrete it into the ground or we could upgrade it into a nicer planter, or we could build a brick bed around it.  So we headed out to home depot to price out our options and decided we would replant out mailbox into a new nicer planter.  We had fun picking some flowers to finish it off with.  So then came the fun part we broke off the old planter and found ourselves with a very heavy mailbox in a whole lot of concrete.  We got it into the new planter and filled in the edges with rocks then added some dirt.  We finished off the look with our flowers and a little bit of mulch.  There you have it $30 later we were all set with a mailbox that has so much more curb appeal!
After

Now to just get some grass growing in all those bare spots!!
