I was sent a so easy baby food kit from fresh baby for review.
This is a great kit for any parents who want to make their baby's food. The kit comes with the following in it:
Cookbook: covers introducing solid food, includes over 40 recipes, hundreds of serving suggestions, and is all organized by age. (Hardcover, 118 pages).
Freezer trays: designed for storing baby food in pre-portioned one ounce servings to simplify meal time and reduce waste. (2 trays and 2 lids, spill-proof, stackable, dishwasher-safe).
How-to DVD: offers step-by-step instruction - from selecting the right produce - to making baby food - to serving it.
Nutrition tips card: gives you tips on the best sources of nutrients, introducing foods by age, first aid for choking, and more. (Waterproof Finish)
The trays are very nice to have with the lids. Baby bug has started onto some food combinations and it has been very easy to pop out a few cubes of this and a few of that to mix together.
Sarah is up to eating three of to four cubes at a meal. I can see how the cube sizing would be perfect for feeding babies just starting solids who only need a few small bites.
I the cookbook is a great resouce it tells how to cook all the basic veggies and fruits as well as listing good combinations. It also gives a rough age guidline for each food. The nutrition tip card is great to hang on the fridge to find all kinds of basic food information. The how-to DVD is great to any parents just starting out it gives the very basics on making babys food.
When I first got the kit I made peaches and bananas. I was able to freeze a tray of peaches and a tray of bananas at the same time.
Yummy Bananas!!
(These do brown a little when frozen don't panic they taste just fine and are safe to serve that way)
The Peaches have been one of babybug's favorites so far!!
These were super easy and such yummy fresh food for the baby. I really love this kit and how helpful it is for all the parents out there who want to be involved in preparing their baby's food.
Fresh baby has offered one of these same kits to one lucky Learning to be thrifty reader!!!
