Letter F
This week we worked on letter F. My worksheets came from 1+1+1=1. Baby bug was big into coloring this week she asked to color many times throughout the week.
I noticed her coloring has become more intentional lately. Instead of coloring all over the whole page she is coloring on the pictures.
I used a cardboard box that cans come in from Aldi's to give baby bug something new to color on. The cardboard has a different texture, beside I think that is a neat way to reuse the cardboard before it gets tossed in the recycle bin.
Art Fun
She got a paint set from her granny for Easter, she had a ball coloring it. I used her F cardboard to keep the mess rained in.
I found a doodle mat at a yard sale for $2. We have already gotten two dollars use out of the thing. Baby bug is in love with coloring on it. On a side note does anyone know how to get ink off a doodle mat?
Outside Exploration
We spent alot of time outside this week. Baby bug loves playing with sidewalk chalk, helping water the plants (poor plants!) and playing with our visitor cat. This cat shows up at our house often looking to be petted.
Kids say funny things:
This week we were looking at one of Baby bug's old Sunday School papers and talking about how God made people. I said " God made you, and momma and Daddy" Her response: "God made Walmart"

ReplyDeleteI love your idea of using a short box to contain the painting mess! Have you tried using bleach to get the ink off the doodle mat? I haven't used a doodle mat before, so I'm not sure if it would work. I used bleach to remove permanent-marker stains from tables when I had a Montessori preschool. I've also heard of using cold cream to remove ink from dolls.
