My lil lamb Review and Giveaway

Recently I was given an opportunity to review a diaperbag from My lil lamb.

My lil lamb is a great site with so many great products.  Check out this sweet little baby girl gift basket.   This is a great place to find that unique baby gift. 

I reviewed the Chic Jett's Polka Dot Diaper Bag.  I have a thing for diaper bags.  I love them I know my hubby rolls his eyes everytime we go shopping and I land in the diaper bag isle.  I don't know how many times I have heard " You don't need another diaper bag!!"  I just cannot help it I love them, so I was very excited to do this review it was a chance to try out another diaper bag.

 My thoughts:

     I loved all the little things that came with this bag.  The paci holder is great to keep that paci safe.  My non-paci baby found a paci in the toy bucket and has decided she likes it!!!   The zippered pouch is great for some many things to hold the little extras socks, meds. diaper cream.  I also think it is great to hold dirty bibs in.  I also love the changing pad I think the size is great and it rolls very thin, my other changing pad is very bulky so the size of this one was a nice surprise.  Also I love all the pockets they are so handy in the organization department.  Over all I think this is a nice bag.  The only problem with the bag is that my husband does not like it.  He thinks it is too showy, and I agree it is a very noticeable bag.  If hubby does not like the bag then he may not want to tote it around!! So I am still on my hunt of the perfect bag but this one is a very nice bag.  I will enjoy having it to use when hubby won't need to be carrying it.

Six Word Saturday

Soaking up every minute with -baby

Right now my life is about soaking up every second of greatness with my sweet little babybug.  Work eats away at so much of my day but I am loving the evenings and weekends that I spend just being with the sweetest little on in the world!!

Friday at last!!!
     I am so glad it is the weekend.  I need a break.  Work is so busy not to mention trying to do all the things around the house.  I must admit I am failing miserably at the house work.  I am hoping to get a handle on it this weekend. 
     Yesterday I mowed the lawn.  I know most find this a big unpleasant chore but I actually enjoy mowing from time to time.  It is a good time to think and a great way to exercise while doing something meaningful if you have a push mower like us.

Sunday Praise

Today  is my momma's Birthday.  I am reminded how blessed I am to have been raised in a loving Christian home.  A home where I was taught about Jesus and his love for me from a young age.  Now that I am a mother I pray I can teach those same values on to my little girl.  I have the best momma ever.  She is a strong Christian woman with a heart of gold.  She is the kindest, most caring person I know.  She has trouble telling people no when they ask for her help because of her serving heart.  I prayer that one day my own little one may see even a faction of these great qualities in me.

Yard Sale - tips

Hello Friends!

This morning I went yard saling and came away with some great deals!!

I found this swing - for $3 dollars Baby bug loves it!!! She looks so cute swinging from the tree in our yard. 

I found an older walk behind toy for her for just $.50

I found this umbrella Stroller for $1.00 it was in great shape that was such an exciting buy!!

I was really excited about these buys!! There are a few things to remember when yard saling that make for a much more excited adventure:

1. Go early - the early bird gets the worm really applies here!!  but if you did hit that snooze button six times don't worry end of the yard sale day is a good time too as the sellers just want to get the rest of their things gone and are much more likely to expect a low offer.
2. Wear comfy shoes - one thing to remember about yard saling is there will be many places to see and the only way to hunt down the bargains is sift through all the junk.
3. Community Sales-These tend to be a big plus in my book I love hitting one neighbor hood and finding so many deals.   Especially now that I have baby bug to lug.  It is great to park the car and stick her in a stroller to hit so many yard sales.  
4. Carry cash in small bills- Some sellers will not have money to make change so carry small amounts of money.  This is a good time to get rid of those of that loose change at the bottom of your purse. 
5. Don't be afraid to bargain- Many sellers welcome your bargaining.  It never hurts to ask.

Book Review- Rumble! Zap! Pow! by Diane Stortz

Rumble! Zap! Pow! Is an action packed comic style book with a deeper meaning.  It has several bible stories from both the Old Testament and the New Testament, 40 in all.  Each comic has a mighty thought which kind of sums up the big point in the story, power words which includes a small bible verse, and activity which encourages an easy hands on activity to go with the story.  I love the lay out of this book.  I think it would be a wonderful addition in any preschooler's book collection.  The pictures are very child-like I would not recommend this one for the older child.  I think this book is best suited for kids ages 2-6. I know just the little boy in my life who will adore this!  I give this sweet little boy's comic book 5 out of 5 stars!!

Happy Saturday all!! Welcome to a great weekend!! What has everyone got planned for this weekend?  Here the main plan is to get the house clean!!! I have laundry to catch up on and my kitchen needs a major cleaning!! So that is where I am planning to start the weekend.  

There is a fundraising yardsale in my town today so I will be going there to see what we can find to help support that cause.  

I love yardsaling looking for that great bargain.

I really don't have any big plans for the weekend and I like that fact.  A nice slow paced day today and church in the morning are just what I want.

Book Review - The Revolutionary Paul Revere by Joel J. Miller

  

  This book walks the reader through the life of Paul Revere.  I know most everyone knows of that famous ride where Revere fills the night air with shouts of " the British are Coming," but there is so much more to Revere.  This book lays his life story out in an easy to read novel form starting all the way back to his father's arrival to America.  
     It's hard for me to sit down and read a history text book, I found the novel format that Miller wrote this book easier to read.  I am a bit curious to know how much extra was added to make the story go smoothly and how much was based on the true story of Paul Revere.  
     If I were to give this book a score on a scale of 1 to 10 I would say this book gets at seven.  It was very informative on the life of Paul Revere, but I must admit there were sections that I found harder to get through that did not hold me attention.

Sunday Ramblings

I set out to see if I could visit all the blogs on my list in order.  I never realized how many blogs I follow!! I started working through the list Thursday and still this morning I am only in the Bs!!!!
Anyone else follow so many site there is no way you can see them all in a timely manner?  I hate that I am missing stuff on my blogs, but there is no way for me to take it all in.

Saturday Ramblings

Happy Saturday all!!! I hope everyone is having a great Saturday!!

I have been very lazy so far!! I have sat and surfed my blogs this morning!! Look at this great Diaper Cake tutorial I found.

Oh I so totally need to figure out how she is getting diapers so cheap!!!

Other than that the only thing I have done is check out a local consignment sale. It was half price day. I found some Christmas Winnie the pooh books for Baby bug to have in a few months and a few PJ's I think I have all the clothes I need for her for the next two sizes other then PJs so I tried really hard to resist buying more clothes right now. If you are not a consignment shopper you should really think about checking one out on half price day!! I spend $5 and ended up with 8 book and three pairs of pajamas oh and I almost forgot the cute minnie mouse plate set!!

Well my afternoon hold lots of chores here around the house eek!!! Anyone wanna come do my laundry?

Summer Clearance

We headed out to Walmart in search of some bins for Babybug's clothes that we want to keep that she has outgrown.  We found some the right size out in the garden section in bright colors marked way down!!  I love finding deals on stuff I already needed.  They also had all kinds of stuff marked very cheap in the summer stuff we bought sidewalk chalk on sale for $.25 and plastic cups and plates on sale for $.10.  Anyways if you are headed to Walmart anytime soon be on the look out for the great clearance buys!!!
